PERSONAL: JOE GANZ was born 8-28-44 in Jacksonville Fl. At the age of one his family moved to Philadelphia, PA. Joe lived in the City of Brotherly Love until he was 16 years old. In 1960 his father, a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy, was sent to NAS Sandpoint in Seattle, WA. In 1962 Joe graduated from Seattle's Blanchet H.S. Joe has two brothers, a teacher/counselor and another who is a Chief of a Seattle area Fire Dept. He has a sister from Kent who is a Masters level RN and president of her own company. Joe's youngest sister is a manager of a major retail co. in the Northwest. Joe lives in Woodinville, WA with his wife and has four children.

EDUCATION:In 1966 Joe graduated from LaSalle College in Philadelphia, PA with a B.A. in Political Science. In 1970 he graduated from Gonzaga School of Law with a Juris Doctor Degree. While at Gonzaga School of Law he was a contributing member of the Law Review (1970). That same year he was the recipient of the prestigious "LINDEN MEDAL" awarded after competition with his peers by five sitting Justices of the 1970 Supreme Court of Washington, for excellence in oral argumentation and legal briefing

MILITARY SERVICE: USMC-USMCR: 1966-1983

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY: From 1970-74 Mr. Ganz was an associate in the firm of Sharpe and Twigg in Spokane WA. He began his career in trial litigation the day following his passing the Washington Bar Exam and being sworn in as a licensed attorney. He specialized in personal injury litigation; family practice; and felony criminal defense.

From 1974-79 he was a partner in the Spokane firm of Sharpe, Twigg and Ganz. He continued with a substantial number of personal injury trials and appeals while at the same time serving as Staff Counsel for the Joint/Senate and House committee on Banking; Utilities and Insurance for the Washington Sate Legislature.

From 1979-83 he was a partner in the firm of Sharpe, Ganz and Henderson in Spokane, WA. During these years he focused on representing plaintiff's and defendants in litigation related to personal injury caused by auto collisions; falls; fire; explosion; products; toxic substances etc. He also maintained a busy plaintiff and defense practice in Legal, Medical and Dental malpractice cases.

In 1984 Mr. Ganz relocated to Seattle and from 1984-1992 served as an associate senior trial attorney in the large Seattle firm of Lee, Smart, Cook, Martin and Patterson P.S. Inc. During this period Mr. Ganz devoted his efforts in the defense of Legal, Medical and Dental malpractice case as well as the defense of general civil litigation cases such as consumer protection; wrongful death; traumatic brain injury cases etc.

For a short period in 1993 he was a partner in a Bellevue firm of Kraft, Kimbrough and Ganz but in 1994 he founded Ganz and Associates P.L.L.C. in Seattle, Washington. Mr. Ganz has in the past thirteen years devoted his practice to the representation of plaintiffs and defendants in Legal; Medical; Dental; Engineering; Accounting; Architectural and Real Estate malpractice cases as well as civil negligence matters such as personal injuries caused by auto collisions; pedestrian injury; injury from products and dangerous substances; sex harassment in the work place; matters involving legal ethics and lawyer and physician discipline, injuries caused by intoxicated people; fire; explosion and matters related to the failure of insurance carriers to pay benefits (life, disabilities, health); bad faith and fraudulent claims and duty to defend and insurance coverage issues.

HONORS AND ASSOCIATIONS<: 1970 Linden medal recipient, Highest possible rating (AV) from the National legal publication,"MARTINDALE-HUBBELL" compiled by survey and evaluation by other Trial Lawyers. Mr. Ganz is licensed, in good standing to practice in Washington Courts including: all District Superior and Appeals Court (Div. I, II, III) and the Washington Supreme Court. Additionally, Mr. Ganz is certified to practice in the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Washington; The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

Mr. Ganz is a member of the American Bar Assoc.; The Washington Trial Lawyers Assoc.; The Defense Research Institute; The Washington Defense Trial Lawyers Assoc. and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Hobbies and Interests: Joe Ganz has been an avid sailor for 37 years; a challenged weekend golfer; coin collector; gardener (roses); and total pushover for his four children, two grandchildren, and, last but not least, his wife.
